To be Separated With The World

Verses for the Day
Titus 3:11-14
11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men
12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world.
13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

We have read from verse 11 the awesome of grace of our God bestowed upon us, and it does not say some men but all men can be saved. Salvation is a gift. When we say a gift, it is not something that you buy.  It is not something that you purchase with a price. Salvation is freely given to everyone although there is a requirement for us to receive that gift.  We have to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. (See the article for more information about salvation)

On verse 12, we are told that we should be separated with the world, from the lust thereof.  For we know that if we love of the world, the love of the Father is not on us (1 John 2:15).

Verse 13 talks about the glorious appearing of our great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ which will happen before the tribulation period. Take note that here we can see the Jesus Christ is God.  Some people and religious groups nowadays do not consider Jesus Christ as God which is a blasphemy toward God. Jesus is Lord! Jesus is God! On 1 Jonh 5:7, it reads, “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one”. This passage talks about the doctrine of Trinity.

Verse 14 explains the purposes why Jesus Christ came on earth.  The first one is to redeem us from all iniquity (sins).  The second purpose is to purify us as we are becoming a peculiar people, to the layman’s term, “strange people” because we are separated from the world. Christians ought not to forsake what Jesus did for the humankind. Christians ought to remember what God has been telling us over and over again. - To be separated with the world and the lust thereof.
